Weeds present a serious problem in rice paddy fields and severely affect rice (Oryza sativa L.) quality and yield. Quintrione is a new herbicide developed for use in rice. It inhibits p-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase and regulates hormone levels to control weeds.
