Cryopreservation of chicken blastodermal cells (BCs) takes a very important role in the field of conservation and utilisation of avian germplasm resources. During the freezing-thawing processes, cells are subjected not only to physical damages but also to oxidative damages. In this study, three kinds of antioxidants [N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC); catalase; lycopene] in different concentrations were added to the cryoprotectant in order to protect cells from oxidative damage.
