Background: Cordycepin is one of the nucleoside compounds with various nutraceutical and health-promoting functions, which makes it widely used in nutraceutical and pharmaceutical fields. Traditionally, cordycepin is mainly extracted from the natural fruiting bodies of Cordyceps spp..
