Gossypol is a yellow polyphenolic compound from cotton plant. It has been shown to exert a potential for anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-fertility effects. Following effects of gossypol acetic acid (GA) in mice were determined in the present study: influence on the total number of lymphocytes, weight ratio and subsets of lymphocytes in the thymus, spleen and mesenteric lymph nodes, and humoral immune response to sheep erythrocytes (SRBC).
