Samples of the Ba9(Lu2-xYx)Si6O24:Ce3 + (x = 0–2) blue-green phosphors were synthesized by solid-state reactions. All the samples exhibited a rhombohedral crystal structure. As the Y3 + concentration increased, the diffraction peaks shifted to the small angle region and the lattice parameters increased due to the larger ionic radius of Y3 + (r = 0.900 Å) compared with that of Lu3 + (r = 0.861 Å).
