In order to make further study on the biochemical mechanism of C-cytoplasmic male sterility of maize, C478, 478 and H01, the cytoplasmic male' sterility line and its maintainer and restorer line of maize were used as the raw material to comparatively analyze the contents of soluble sugar, soluble protein and free proline in their tassel florets.
