Can insect viruses indirectly affect the release of plant herbivore‐induced plant volatiles (HIPVs)? We found that several new volatiles were detected in the leaves damaged by Heliothis virescens ascovirus 3h (HvAV‐3h)‐infected Spodoptera litura compared to leaves damaged by healthy S. litura, and some volatiles that affect the behavior of S. litura larvae were found.
