Pseudorabies virus (PRV) causes high mortality encephalitis in newborn piglets, abortion and stillbirth in sows, resulting in huge economic losses to the swine industry. Interferon-induced transmembrane proteins (IFITMs) play a crucial role in the innate immune response triggered by viral infection.
