Soil pH is closely related to soil microbial activity, conversion and release of crop nutrient elements, and crop growth. In this study, tobacco was grown in solution culture at varying solution pH levels (solution pHs 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8). Data regarding tobacco growth, dry matter accumulation, activities of membrane-lipid peroxidation and protective enzymes, chlorophyll contents and photosynthetic rate were recorded at 10, 17, 24, 31, 38 and 45 days after transplanting tobacco seedlings.
