改善民生是构建和谐社会的题中之义，民生的改善为和谐社会的构建指明了方向，民生问题解决的好不好直接关乎着广大人民群众的根本利益和幸福安康，关乎着社会的稳定发展和国家的繁荣昌盛，改善民生是我国构建社会主义和谐社会的核心内容。改善民生，促进社会和谐应做到“重民生、保民生、安民生、强民生、和民生”这五个维度。
