A tannase-producing strain isolated and screened from tannic-acid-rich soil, it was identified as Klebsiella pneumoniae based on the observation of its colony morphology and the molecular biological classification of its 16S rDNA. The fermentation conditions for tannase production of the strain were initially studied.
