During 2017 to 2018, a fruit rot of peach (Prunus persica) occurred in Hunan Province of China. The symptoms showed as soft, brown water-soaked lesions with offwhite sporulation, in some cases, on the fruit surface, extending in the flesh, which was decayed. The fungus was isolated and identified as Fusarium solani based on morphological characteristics and molecular identification using the internal transcribed spacer (ITS), a portion of the translation elongation factor-1 alpha (EF-1 alpha) and beta-tubulin gene sequences.
