A total of 230 Actinomycetes were obtained from the soil of the Three-river headwater national nature reserve in Qinghai province, China. A strain, SJY056, was isolated after primary screening using a plate confrontation culture method followed by a fermentation filtrate inhibitory assay. The fermentation filtrate significantly inhibited the growth of MRSA after diluted for 5 folds with an inhibition halo of 21-mm in diameter.
