本文以长株潭城市群扩展用地作为研究对象，采用数据包络分析法中的C^2R模型，结合长株潭城市群现阶段土地利用的特点选取一定的输入和输出指标，对该区域2000-2010年土地利用的经济效益进行定量分析，并对该区域DEA无效年份的原因进行了分析。对提高长株潭城市群用地扩展的经济效益提出了自己的建议：有针对性地对土地各投入要素进行合理配置，提高第二三产业人员的就业素质以及加强土地市场的信息流通。
