To explore the relationship between phosphopentose pathway and germination of triploid watermelon seeds, changes of G-6-PDH and 6-P-GDH enzyme activities during the germination of triploid watermelon seed were studied. The activities of G-6-PDH and 6-P-GDH reached highest at 36h after germination and decreased afterwards. The enzyme activi- ty peak was concordant with the seed coat cracking stage.
