Gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors (GABARs) primarily function by suppressing inflammatory responses, modulating neuronal excitability, and maintaining intracellular homeostasis, whereas N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors (NMDARs) play a key role in mediating pathological processes through the regulation of excitatory neurotransmission and immune responses.
