Service-oriented architecture can offer open standards to integrate inter-enterprise applications, but it cannot fully support complex Internet applications characterized by asynchronous transmission and high reliability. Although traditional message-oriented middleware (MOM), being loosely coupled and asynchronous reliable, is suitable for enterprise integration. Yet it is too unscalable and inflexible to expand into large-scale network environment. In this paper, it firstly presents the communication model of a new service-oriented asynchronous messaging middleware called s-AMM. Then, it designs an architecture of s-AMM which fully introduces the advantages of SOA and MOM, and analyzes some key technologies including message processing algorithm, service re-composition and security service etc. At last, s-AMM is proved to be feasible and effective by a mobile e-commence case and it has broad application prospects in large-scale network environment.

The rice water weevil, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus Kuschel (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), reproduces by sex in the Southeastern United States, but reproduces by parthenogenesis in California and other invaded regions in Asia and Europe. The objective of this study was to create a parthenogenetic gene expression profile of the rice water weevil in order to gain a better insight into the molecular mechanisms of parthenogenesis in the weevil. Suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) technique was employed for profiling differential gene expression in the developed ovary between the parthenogenetic and bisexual female rice water weevils. A total of 70 contigs were obtained, and the BLASTX search identified putatively 28 genes with differential functions. According to the cytological process of parthenogenesis, the tubulin alpha-1 chain and signal transduction genes etc. were selected for real time quantitative RT-PCR analyses, and their possible functions related to the molecular mechanism of parthenogenesis were discussed. The tubulin alpha-1 chain and some signal transduction genes may be related to the molecular mechanisms of parthenogenesis of the rice water weevil.

Effects of chlorocholine chloride (CCC) on phytohormones and photosynthetic characteristics of Zhongshu 3, a potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) variety widely cultivated in south China, were studied by foliar CCC application on 24 and 28 days after emergence, that is, at the tuber initiation stage. It was found that on 42 days after emergence, that is, at the tuber bulking stage, spraying CCC increased indolacetic-3-acid (IAA) and zeatin (Z) contents but decreased abscisic acid (ABA) content in leaves. The content ratios of IAA/Z, IAA/ABA, Z/ABA, and (IAA + Z)/ABA in leaves treated with CCC were higher than those of the control. CCC plays a prominent regulating role in the photosynthesis of Zhongshu 3. The net photosynthetic rate (P
n), stomatal conductance (G
s), intercellular CO2 concentration (C
i), and transpiration rate (T
r) of treated leaves were superior to those of controls at the tuber bulking stage. CCC markedly increased tuber yield and quality. The contents of sucrose and starch in tubers treated with CCC increased at the end of the vegetation period, whereas the contents of reducing sugars and solanine decreased. CCC at 2.0 g L−1 was found to be the most effective concentration. Collectively, the results of this research identify phytohomonal metabolism and photosynthetic physiology of potato leaves as processes affected early after application of CCC resulting in significantly improved increases in tuber yield and quality.
