摘要:
By using the critical point method, some new criteria are obtained for the existence and multiplicity of periodic and subharmonic solutions to a 2nth-order nonlinear difference equation. The proof is based on the Linking Theorem in combination with variational technique. Our results generalize and improve some known ones.

摘要:
This paper is concerned with a 2nth-order nonlinear difference equation. By making use of the critical point method, we establish various sets of sufficient conditions for the nonexistence and existence of solutions for Dirichlet boundary value problem and give some new results. The existing results are generalized and significantly complemented.

摘要:
By making use of the critical point theory, the existence of periodic solutions for fourth-order nonlinear difference equations is obtained. The proof is based on the Saddle Point Theorem in combination with variational technique. The problem is to solve the existence of periodic solutions of fourth-order nonlinear difference equations. Results obtained complement the existing one.

The mir-155 family is not only involved in a diversity of cancers, but also as a regulator of the immune system. However, the evolutionary history of this family is still unclear. The present study indicates that mir-155 evolved independently with lineage-specific gain of miRNAs. In addition, arm switching has occurred in the mir-155 family, and alternative splicing could produce two different lengths of ancestral sequences, implying the alternative splicing can also drive evolution for intragenic miRNAs. Here we screened validated target genes and immunity-related proteins, followed by analyzation of the mir-155 family function by high-throughput methods like the gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Eneyclopedin of Genes and Genemes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis. The high-throughput analysis showed that the CCND1 and EGFR genes were outstanding in being significantly enriched, and the target genes cebpb and VCAM1 and the protein SMAD2 were also vital in mir-155-related immune reponse activities. Therefore, we conclude that the mir-155 family is highly conserved in evolution, and CCND1 and EGFR genes might be potential targets of mir-155 with regard to progress of cancers, while the cebpb and VCAM1 genes and the protein SMAD2 might be key factors in the mir-155 regulated immune activities.

A Gram-reaction-variable, rod-shaped, motile, facultatively aerobic and endospore-forming bacterium, designated strain GSS02(T), was isolated from a forest soil. Strain GSS02(T) was capable of reducing humic substances and Fe(III) oxides. Strain GSS02(T) grew optimally at 35 degrees C, at pH 78 and in the presence of 1% NaCl. The predominant menaquinone was MK-7. The major cellular fatty acids were anteiso-C(15:0) and iso-C(16:0) and the polar lipid profile contained mainly phosphatidylethanolamine, diphosphatidylglycerol and phosphatidylglycerol, with moderate amounts of two unknown aminophospholipids and a minor amount of one unknown lipid. The DNA G+C content was 53.4 mol%. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain GSS02(T) was related most closely to Paenibacillus terrigena JCM 21741(T) (98.1% similarity). Mean DNA-DNA relatedness between strain GSS02(T) and P. terrigena JCM 21741(T) was 58.8 +/- 0.5%. The phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic and phenotypic results clearly demonstrated that strain GSS02(T) belongs to the genus Paenibacillus and represents a novel species, for which the name Paenibacillus guangzhouensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is GSS02(T) ( =KCTC 33171(T) =CCTCC AB 2013236(T)).

In this paper, a second order nonlinear difference equation with Jacobi operators is considered. Using the critical point theory, we obtain the existence and multiplicity of solutions of Dirichlet boundary value problems and give some new results.

There is increasing evidence for considerable interlinking between the responses to heat stress (HS) and light signaling. In the present work, we provide molecular evidence that BBX18, a negative regulator in photomorphogenesis belonging to the B-box zinc finger protein family in Arabidopsis thaliana, is involved in the regulation of thermotolerance. Using quantitative RT-PCR, GUS staining and immunoblot analysis, our results indicate that the expression of BBX18 was induced by HS. BBX18-RNAi and 35S::BBX18 transgenic Arabidopsis plants were obtained for functional analysis of BBX18. Under-expression of BBX18 displayed increased both basal and acquired thermotolerance in the transgenic plants, while over-expression of BBX18 reduced tolerance to HS in transgenic lines. Moreover, when wild-type, BBX18-RNAi and 35S::BBX18 transgenic plants were treated with HS, HR-related digalactosyldiacylglycerol synthase 1 (DGD1) was down-regulated by BBX18 in both normal and heat shock conditions. Besides, the expression levels of Hsp70, Hsp101 and APX2 were increased in BBX18-RNAi transgenic plants, but lower in 35S::BBX18 transgenic plants. However, the expression of HsfA2 was lower in BBX18-RNAi transgenic plants and higher in the 35S::BBX18 after high-temperature treatment. These results suggesting that, by modulated expression of a set of HS-responsive genes, BBX18 weakened tolerance to HS in Arabidopsis. So our data indicate that BBX18 plays a negative role in thermotolerance.
