Biochars with excellent Pb(II) adsorption property produced from fresh and dehydrated banana peels via hydrothermal carbonization

摘要:
Fresh and dehydrated banana peels were used as biomass feedstock to produce highly effective sorbent biochars through a facile one-step hydrothermal carbonization approach with 20%vol phosphoric acid as the reaction medium. The elemental ratio of oxygen content of the two as-prepared biochars were about 20%, and the FT-IR analysis confirmed the existence of abundant surface functional groups such as hydroxyl and carboxyl which greatly enhanced the adsorption performance. The sorbents showed excellent lead clarification capability of 359mg·g−1and 193mg·g−1for dehydrated and fresh banana peels based biochars, respectively. The change of the C[dbnd]O/O–C[dbnd]O and the appearance of Pb–O/Pb–O–C on the surface after adsorption confirmed that the ion exchange might be the dominant mechanism. The dehydration and pulverization pre-treatment and the addition of phosphoric acid can benefit the formation of those functional groups and hydrothermal carbonization can be a promising method to transfer biomass like fruit peels into biochars with excellent adsorption performance. © 2017 Elsevier Ltd

摘要:
采用多种商品炭如活性炭(CA)、煤粉(PC)、木质2.0生物炭(L2B)、椰壳生物炭(CSB)、稻壳生物炭(RHB)、硬炭毡(HCF)、软炭毡(SCF)、果壳生物炭(SB)等作为代表,通过各项表征手段检测不同商品炭的表面性质。利用扫描电镜(SEM)观察各商品炭的表面形貌,以傅里叶变换红外光谱(FT-IR)和Boehm滴定法分别定性和定量分析不同商品炭表面官能团的种类和数量,通过对商品炭的形貌结构、表面含有官能团和晶体结构的分析,发现商品炭对重金属离子吸附的主要影响因素是酸性表面官能团,而商品炭形貌及孔隙度影响较小。

摘要:
In this paper, LiTi<inf>2</inf>(PO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf>@carbon composite as anode for aqueous lithium ion battery has been successfully synthesized by in-situ carbon coating method using oxalic acid and glucose as double carbon sources. XRD results confirm the rhombohedral NASICON-type LiTi<inf>2</inf>(PO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf>structure of the as-prepared composite. The LiTi<inf>2</inf>(PO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf>@carbon composite using double carbon sources (LTP-OG-10) disperses well, and the coated carbon layer has the appropriate thickness of 3–7 nm, which result in proper balance of the good electrical conductivity and the fast kinetics of diffusion of lithium ions. LTP-OG-10 exhibits better electrochemical performance compared with those using oxalic acid (LTP-O) or glucose (LTP-G) single carbon source. LTP-OG-10 anode delivers the discharge capacity of 112.5 mA h g<sup>−1</sup>, 96.8 mA h g<sup>−1</sup>, and 54.2 mA h g<sup>−1</sup>at 0.2 C, 5 C and 20 C, respectively, much larger than that of LTP-O and LTP-G. Moreover, LTP-OG-10 demonstrated excellent cycling performance, with the capacity retention of 71.1% after 400 cycles at 0.2 C, 22.9% higher than that of LTP-G. The good electrochemical properties of LTP-OG-10 is mainly ascribed to the increase of defects, high-quality and appropriate thickness of carbon layer. Our study reveals that preparing LiTi<inf>2</inf>(PO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf>@carbon composite using double carbon sources is an efficient approach to enhance its electrochemical properties. ©2017 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

To improve the thermal stability, Al2O3 has been successfully coated on a Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ (YAG:Ce) phosphor powder host by using the Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) approach in a fluidized bed reactor. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analysis indicate that coating an Al2O3 thin layer by ALD is highly feasible. The luminescence properties (such as excitation and emission as well as quantum efficiency and UV-absorption of the coated YAG:Ce phosphor) were systematically analysed, with the further examination of the thermal resistance characteristics. The Al2O3 thin layer coating with precisely controlled thickness by ALD can obviously improve the luminescence intensity and greatly enhances the thermal stability of the YAG:Ce phosphor. It is suggested that the alumina coating with tailoring thickness seems not only to act like a barrier to decrease the thermal quenching, but also as a great help to promote the light absorption and transfer.

摘要:
以荧光灯和自然光为对照组,分别选用4种不同的LED光谱用于辣椒、番茄和茄子的育苗补光试验。育苗完成后测定不同茄果类蔬菜幼苗的生长指标及光合特性。结果表明:经适当光质的LED植物生长灯进行补光后,辣椒、番茄和茄子幼苗的株高、根长、茎粗、叶面积和整个幼苗的鲜质量、干质量均有明显的增长,辣椒、番茄和茄子幼苗叶中的可溶性糖、类胡萝卜素及含氮量均有不同幅度的提高;辣椒、番茄和茄子幼苗的光合能力增强,气孔导度、胞间CO2浓度有一定程度的升高,蒸腾速率加快。LED补光使幼苗的品质得到了提高,其中以处理组3的LED灯最佳。

Phosphor converted white light-emitting diodes (pc-WLEDs) are an alternative choice for general lighting due to their superior features such as high efficiency, durability and reliability. However, most pc-WLEDs in the market suffer from problems resulting from the lack of red emission, which can be resolved by adding red-emitting phosphors. The currently dominant red-emitting phosphors are Eu2+-doped nitrides, but the requirement of elevated temperature during synthesis makes them costly, and moreover the over broad emission may result in loss of lumen efficiency. Recently, transition metal Mn4+ doped materials showing very narrow red emission have attracted tremendous interest for compositions based on abundant resources and mild production processes, resulting in a highly efficient way to obtain phosphors with favorable luminescence properties. In this work, we describe the recent progress on transition metal Mn4+-doped inorganic luminescent materials, including oxides (subdivision into alkaline-earth germanates, arsenates, aluminates, titanates, pyrosilicates, phosphates, zirconates, gallates, simple oxides and others), fluorides and nitrides. More specifically, the review focuses on Mn4+ activated red-emitting phosphors that can be effectively excited by NUV and blue LED chips. The excitation and emission spectra as well as the preparation process of some representative phosphors are given and discussed. Meanwhile, the merits and drawbacks of several kinds of matrix materials in applications for white LEDs, as well as some problems, development trends and application prospects in this field of Mn4+ doped phosphors are summarized.

农业性院校本科生《文献检索》课程实践改革初探

文献是学科前沿研究动态的集中体现,要提升学生的科研创新能力必须掌握文献查阅技能。结合《文献检索》课程教学经验,提出对于该课程应加强实践改革,并从自身经验与体会出发开展了初步试验探索。初探内容包括:从大学生创新项目申报的角度树立文献查阅的目标,激发学生的学习兴趣,采用"现学现用、活学活用"模式保障实践跟上理论,利用投影仪、画板展示等手段提高学生的主动性和积极性,引入研讨会和竞赛机制进一步巩固知识。试验证明,加强实践环节有利于促进学生对文献检索知识与技能的掌握,值得在农业性院校的本科教学中推广。

摘要:
The diiodocarbenemodified graphene nanosheets (Gr-CI<inf>2</inf>were successfully synthesized. The generation of diiodocarbene was carried out by reaction of aqueous sodium hydroxide with iodoform. The functionalization was carried out in the presence of hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide as the phase transfer catalyst. To determine the morphology and elemental composition of the product, the obtained composite was fully characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The degree of grafted iodine reached up to 33 wt%, and the morphology of the functionalized graphene remained largely unchanged, indicating that the modification was successfully realized. The adsorption of Pb(II) from aqueous solutions using Gr-CI<inf>2</inf>composite were systematically studied. And Langmuir isotherm was found to better fit the equilibrium data. Due to its high adsorption capacities for Pb(II) and the feasible preparation procedure, Gr-CI<inf>2</inf>composite would find its potential application in wastewater treatment. Here we report a hybrid of MnOx-CeO2/Ketjenblack as a novel catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) by a facile strategy. This hybrid exhibits comparable activity and better stability towards ORR than the commercial 20 wt% Pt/C due to the synergistic effect. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2015.

Developing highly active non-precious catalysts is still a great challenge for metal-air batteries. Herein, three-dimensional (3D) mesoporous MnCo<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4.5</inf>nanoflakes were fabricated via a facile two-step approach and proposed as a novel electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) for the first time. The as-prepared samples were well characterized by a combination of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and nitrogen absorption experiments. TheMnCo<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4.5</inf>nanoflakes have a relatively large surface area of 28 m<sup>2</sup>/g resulting from its 3D mesoporous networks. The electrocatalytic activity toward ORR was evaluated by linear sweep voltammetry tests, which indicated higher reduction current densities compared with Mn<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf>and Co<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf>. It even outperformed the commercial carbon-supported Pt (5 wt%). The MnCo<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4.5</inf>with unique morphology here can be used as an efficient catalyst for metal/air batteries. ©2015 The Electrochemical Society.

智能高分子材料在生物医学、化记忆元件开关、传学转换器、感器、人造肌肉、化学存储器、分子分离体系、活性酶的固定、组织工程、化学化工等方面得到了广泛的应用,尤其在智能给药系统中备受关注.明胶作为胶原的解旋产物,具有优良的生物相容性、可生物降解性、来源丰富、制备简单等一系列优点,被广泛用于智能型药物载体的制备、研究与应用中.本文主要阐述了明胶极其特性,对明胶基智能型药物载体如明胶微囊/微球、明胶纳米颗粒以及明胶基智能型水凝胶等的制备、性质和应用做了简要的介绍,并指出了明胶药物载体在未来的发展前景以及需要解决的问题.

High-performance, low cost catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) remains a big challenge. Herein, nanostructured NiCo2O4/CNTs hybrid was proposed as a high-performance catalyst for metal/air battery for the first time. The well-formed NiCo2O4/CNTs hybrid was studied by steady-state linear polarization curves and galvanostatic discharge curves in comparison with CNTs-free NiCo2O4 and commercial carbon-supported Pt. Because of the synergistic effect, NiCo2O4/CNTs hybrid exhibited significant improvement of catalytic performance in comparison with NiCo2O4 or CNTs alone, even outperforming Pt/C hybrid in ORR process. In addition, the benefits of Ni incorporation were demonstrated by the improved catalytic performance of NiCo2O4/CNTs compared to Co3O4/CNTs, which should be attributed to improved electrical conductivity and new, highly efficient, active sites created by Ni cation incorporation into the spinel structure. NiCo2O4/CNTs hybrid could be used as a promising catalyst for high power metal/air battery.

Three dimensional hierarchical flower-like lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO<inf>4</inf>) mesocrystals were successfully synthesized via a solvothermal approach with the utilization of a mixture of water/ethylene glycol/dimethylacetamide (H<inf>2</inf>O/EG/DMAC) as co-solvent. No other surfactant or template agent was used and beautiful micro-sized LiFePO <inf>4</inf> mesoporous structures with a special rose-like morphology were obtained. The hierarchical LiFePO<inf>4</inf> mesocrystals were assembled by well crystallized nano-sized LiFePO<inf>4</inf> thin plates with a thickness around 100 nm. The characteristics and electrochemical dynamics as well as performance of the obtained hierarchical flower-like LiFePO<inf>4</inf> mesocrystals were carefully investigated. The flower-like hierarchical LiFePO<inf>4</inf> mesocrystals showed a high initial lithium intercalation capability of 147 mA h g<sup>-1</sup> at a current density of 17 mA g <sup>-1</sup> (0.1 C), which should be attributed to the high specific surface area resulting from the mesoporous superstructure and well crystallized LiFePO<inf>4</inf> nano-plate composition units. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was introduced during the solvothermal synthesis as an in situ carbon coating source. The obtained flower-like C-coated LiFePO<inf>4</inf> mesocrystals exhibited even better initial lithium intercalation capability of 161 mA h g<sup>-1</sup> at 0.1 C and showed improved lithium storage performance at high rates as well as good cyclic stability. ©2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
